Wood Ducks

Picture

The wood duck is one of the only species to nest in man-made nest boxes.  When incubating her eggs, the hen wood duck uses her own down feathers. Although wood duck numbers in Maryland are stable, we still need to be vigilant in order to maintain our population in the state.
